The political vice-chairman of UDMR Laszlo Borbely hopes that the protocol referring to the programme of governing to be signed in a week, showing that there is the variant of leaving the coalition if they do not meet the pledges in the document.

The political vice-chairman of UDMR Laszlo Borbely stated in a press conference in Targu Mures that the representatives of the Union required the existence of a protocol with precise deadline, besides the governing programme. Borbely added that in the protocol there could be included by May June deadlines or even shorter, depending on the social aspects and he proposed a more clear definition of a public policy for the stimulation of birth rate and subsidies offered to the employers who reintegrate on the work market women with children as dependants – younger than six year olds- together with the improvement of the legislation regarding pension for inheritants and other four-five proposal coming to help the familites with several children.
As regards pensions and salaries, both in the discussion with IMF and the discussion regarding the governmental programme we talked to introduce this target and I am convinced that in April we will be able to increase salaries and pensions, I can’t give a percentage but this was one of UDMR’s conditions Borbely said.
He reminded the issue of fiscal amnesty for over 300,000 state-paid employees who received bonuses included in the work collective contractis and after two years the Accounts Court said they did not have the right .
At the same time, another issue under the UDMR attention refers to infrastructure – continuation of the works on Transilvania highway which could reach Targu Mures as well as the starting of works, as soon as possible, on the Targu Mures – Iasi highway.
According to Borbely, a separate chapter in the protocol will refer to minorities.
We have to solve the issue of the Medical School in Targu Mures, not in a speedy way but there should be a sentence where we should mention multicultural universities – Babes Bolyai, the Art University in Targu Mures and UMF Targu Mures – there should be set up according to the law the teaching in Hungarian lines. So it will be included in the governing programme. Let’s see if we can solve it. If in other way, by governmental decision Borbely said.
He added that he did not agree to have in the governing programme the project referring to territorial reorganisation which should be discussed, analysed and publicly debated .
